To best experience the beach arrive two hours before or after high tide so you can understand the rocky beach landscape.
Intermediate and Experienced surfers ride the 2-to-4-foot (0.6-to-1.2 meter) waves in Playa Cedros on a left point break – boosting its best at mid-to-high incoming high tide - best swells coming south, and an unforgiving rocky bottom. The surf is good year round, but exceptional from December to April.
Drive 0.9 miles south from Montezuma, watch for a tall banyan tree on the left side of the dirt road and park your car near or below the tree.
