If you follow the main road running through town toward the national park, you'll run straight into the beach. Drop-in at the park's ranger station, sign your name into the log and drop a donation (the park runs on donations) before walking onto the beach.
Playa Blanca's sun bleached sands attract plenty of sunbathers to bask in the beauty of Cahuita's most popular beach, but you'll also find swimmers down past the first quarter mile where rip currents are more common. Wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy some time in the sun while watching for capuchin monkeys that are known to drop down from the trees and steal food and bags from unassuming tourists (just don't feed them).
