Explore the rainforest canopy and enjoy spectacular views of Arenal volcano on Arenal’s Sky Tram. Located in Arenal, the tour extends some 4,100 feet to the highest point in the Arenal Rainforest Reserve. Observe the forest canopy at eye level as each gondola rises 150 feet off the ground. Naturalist guides point out howler monkeys, parrots, three-toed sloths, motmots and other wildlife species in the verdant surrounds. This aerial tram tour may be combined with an adrenaline-pumping canopy tour and/or visit to a beautiful butterfly garden.
Central Pacific
Created to raise consciousness of the tropical rainforest and increasingly rare tropical dry forest habitats around Jaco, the Rainforest Aerial Tram Pacific features an open-air gondola that traverses a mile of stunning rainforest. Get inspired by the forest’s hidden jewels and hanging gardens that drip from towering trees as trained guides identify local flora and fauna. The park offers combo packages that include the tram and a canopy tour or a stroll through the serpentarium and heliconia garden.
Central Valley
Central Valley is graced with two aerial trams, one located adjacent to Braulio Carrillo National Park and the other in Turrubares, close to Orotina. At Braulio Carrillo, visitors glide over and through a layer of rainforest canopy, and are treated to views that range from dense forest interior to wide open vistas. After the tram ride, guests can partake in a canopy tour and visit a frog pond, butterfly garden and serpentarium. At Turu Ba Ri Adventure Park, gondolas gently ascend to heights of over 200 feet along a 2,000-foot cable for panoramic views of the Tarcoles River. This tour may be combined with a zip-line canopy tour, nature walk, horseback riding, or the sensational Superman cable.
Monteverde
Monteverde is home to two aerial trams: one slow-paced and the other adrenaline-packed. The first, located in nearby Cerro Plano, is ideal for those who wish to experience the forest canopy at a slow pace or have trouble negotiating the cloud forest’s rugged trails. The open-air tram, which can hold up to two people per car, travels one hour through secondary forest and beautiful gardens. Sky Trek Monteverde offers a bit more adventure, fantastic views and a little less nature, traveling up to one mile high on almost 5,250 feet of cable. This tour may be combined with a zip-line tour or a guided walk along hanging bridges.

At the tram’s halfway point, riders have the choice to ride back up through the canopy or take a break to hike to a thunderous waterfall. Onsite attractions include a reptile house, interactive ranarium, hummingbird garden, insectarium, butterfly garden, and numerous hikes.
